Fish and Chips

Ingredients
  • .75lb fish filet
  • 12oz beer
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • 1.5 lbs potato
  • Salt pepper
  • 1 pint frying oil
Instructions
  1. Cut up potatoes into long strips that are about ¼” thick
  2. In a large frying pan place about an inch of oil and start heating
  3. Once hot, add the potatoes and occasionally flip until golden brown on all sides
  4. Remove the fries and immediately add salt and pepper
  5. In a medium mixing bowl, add flour, egg, garlic, and beer and whisk until smooth
  6. Using a paper towel, pat the fish to make sure that the outside is mostly dry
  7. Place the fish into the batter then quickly into the hot oil.
  8. Flip when golden brown and allow other side to turn golden brown
  9. Serve with ketchup and tartar sauce
